Mt Maria College celebrated International Women's Day in style on Friday 8 March, hosting a women in business afternoon that culminated in a fundraising clothing swap for Caritas Australia and The Nest.
An initiative of the College's Student Social Justice Captains, Zara Grlj and Lily Moffat, the afternoon featured inspirational talks from guest speakers Michelle House of Rich Living Revolution, Mackenzie Bond of Outback Wings and Donna Hedges from the Lions Club of Brisbane Bunya. This event was supported by the Queensland Government.
The afternoon was a tremendous success with the College raising over $800 for The Nest and Caritas Australia to support empowerment programs for women.
Many thanks to our sponsors who made this event possible: Queensland Government, YYY87.6FM, Mt Maria College Parents & Friends Association, Enoggera Baptist Church, Style Your Way, The Catholic Parishes of Grovely-Samford and Mitchelton, Enoggera Baptist Clothes Swap Community, Lions Club of Brisbane Bunya and the Mt Maria College Social Justice Group.
