Rugby Australia visited Mt Maria this week to film a mixture of the College Girls Rugby teams training. The filming was part of some coaching resources that Rugby Australia are producing for their latest program, Get Into Rugby. The resources will form part of a package of online training resources for aspiring coaches and players.
The students worked tirelessly over two days of intense filming, filming sequences of catching and passing as well as minor contact drills. The girls also learnt about lineouts, switch passes, outside and inside support lines as well as a range of other skills.
Assistant Principal Pastoral, Mr Michael Crank, said that the girls were thrilled to take part in the experience.
"All of their hard work will correspond to a greater understanding and enjoyment of Rugby as they compete in competitions later in the year," Mr Crank said.
