Mt Maria College students Ashlin Cork and Grace Elliott are excitedly preparing to travel to Villers-Bretonneux, France for Anzac Day 2019.
Ashlin and Grace will travel to France with the Voices of Birralee on April 5th as part of Voices of Birralee's five-year commitment to the Department of Veterans' Affair (DVA).
Surrounding this commitment, the girls and 70 other choristers will venture across Europe and perform in Croatia, Austria, France and Italy.
While Ashlin is too young to sing as part of the televised Anzac Day service in Villers-Bretonneux with Grace, she will join the choir as they perform at the Lighting of the Flame at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and will perform at the 'We are singing Adriatic Festival' in Opatija, Croatia and at a Mayoral Civic Reception in Graz, Austria.
Ashlin joined Birralee Singers in 2017 and progressed to the Voices of Birralee last year. She is overjoyed at the opportunity to sing with the choir in Europe.
“I am really excited to represent not only Australia, but my school and the local community, on the international stage," Ashlin said.
“It means the world to me to be selected for this amazing event."
Principal of Mt Maria College, Mr. Glenn McConville said of the tour; “Mt Maria College is very proud of both Ashlin and Grace on their fantastic achievement – all of their hard work and preparation has resulted in this once of a lifetime tour."
