Bailey breaks Australian Record

Congratulations to Year 11 student Bailey Housden who recently broke the Men’s U18s 10000m Race Walking Australian Record.

Bailey came 2nd in the U20s Supernova World Tour event in Canberra in a record time of 41:30.77.

Bailey prepared for the event by training in a gruelling 3-week altitude training camp in Perisher with the National Race Walking team.

Over the Holidays, Bailey also competed at the 2023 Australian All Schools Championships where he placed 2nd in the Men's U17s 5000m Race Walk in a time of 20:07.56, setting a new U18 QLD Record.

Bailey will now travel to Adelaide in two weeks to trial for his spot to compete at the World Race Walking Cup in Turkey.

Good Luck Bailey!
