Year 11 Geography students discovered the impact dangerous water levels can have when they reenacted a storm surge in today's class as part of their Natural Hazards studies. The students assembled in various heights around the classroom to recreate a surge. Mrs Barbara Wortley, Humanities Curriculum Leader and 11 Geography teacher, said that the enactment really helped to clarify for the students what happens when water has nowhere to escape. "The students thought the activity was funny, but it definitely hit a nerve [for the students] when they learnt how quickly water can rise when trapped," Mrs Wortley said.
