Year 9 Student Wins Encouragement Prize in Writing Comp

Congratulations to Year 9 student Lily Cronk who recently won the Encouragement Prize in the 2019 Remembrance Day Writing Competition, run by Gaythorne RSL.

Lily received a $100 cash prize for her essay about 'Australian nurses serving overseas during World War I'.

Mrs Barbara Wortley, Curriculum Leader Humanities at Mt Maria, said that Lily should be very proud of her achievement.

"What a great result for Lily, given it was her first entry into a writing competition run by the RSL," said Mrs Wortley.
