Congratulations to Mt Maria student Stephen Ratcliff for winning 1st place for Year 9 students in the Gaythorne RSL 2018 Remembrance Day Writing Competition. Stephen was awarded $300 for his achievement, and the College library also received $300 for having a student win 1st place.  Year 7 student Erin Hill and Year 8 student Royce Dyson also received Encouragement Awards from the RSL for their efforts. The students received their awards from Cr Andrew Wines and Member for Everton, Mr Tim Mander at the RSL on Monday evening.

Curriculum Leader for Humanities at the College, Barbara Wortley, said that the encouragement for students to participate from the Humanities department and the College Community was wonderful.

"The RSL have said that picking the winners this year was very difficult," Mrs Wortley said.

"Many thanks to all the students who put in entries this year, we strongly encourage every one to try again in 2019!"

Congratulations again to Stephen, Erin and Royce on their amazing achievement!
