Students tackle Shakespeare at Shakefest

Several Mt Maria students competed in Shake Fest last Friday night (31/8/18). The students entered a number of different categories including Music, Design, Duologue and Monologue. Shake Fest provides a unique opportunity for students across QLD to focus their artistic abilities in an all-inclusive creative competition celebrating the works of William Shakespeare. Shake Fest is the original cross schools Festival connecting students' schools with a professional arts organisation. Curriculum Leader for the Arts at Mt Maria, Nancy Rose, said "They [the students] blew me away with their creativity and their bravery! It is a most formidable stage to perform amongst their peers from a number of schools."

The judges are still deliberating so the students are yet to hear their results, however they should all be proud of their amazing performances. A love of Shakespeare is certainly alive and thriving at Mt Maria!
