Mt Maria Students 2018 Sydney Arts Trip

The annual Sydney Arts Trip for our Year 12 Mt Maria Drama, Music, Film and Visual Art students was a tremendous success this year with students exploring the many cultural opportunities in exciting Sydney.

Highlights of the whirlwind trip included:

  • ​Learning about the history and culture of the Opera House
  • Discovering contemporary art at the Museum of Contemporary Art
  • Tuning into the interesting and staccato tunes of the Modern Music Ensemble at The Conservatorium of Music
  • A visit to Sydney's Capitol Theatre to experience an Australian musical theatre icon, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert 
  • Visual Arts students explored and attended the Brett Whitely Studio, the Archibald at the National Gallery of Art and Sydney's Biennale of Art
  • Film students visited the Channel Ten studios to explore the set of Studio 10, where the College got a shout out on live t​v!
  • Drama students delved into the theatre of Brecht at the Australian Theatre for Young People, and participated in a screen acting workshop at NIDA
  • Music students learnt about electronic sound at The Con and finished their musicality learning and Indonesian song using instruments from Bali called Gamel
