Introducing a new school  initiative to support the mental health and wellbeing of students in our Mt Maria College community.MMC first Therapy Dog Chesney.

Chesney is a 1-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who weighs 6 kgs. She loves meeting new people, sitting on people’s feet for attention, leaning on people for pats, and playing with toys.  Through Chesney’s presence within the school environment, it is envisaged that she will support student engagement, social skill development, and self-regulation skills, among many other potential benefits.  Chesney will be attending the College part time to work with students in a variety of ways including individual and small group interventions, as well as a presence at a range of school events.
