While our students leave the College with an excellent education, our students also graduate with a broad range of life skills, strong friendships and positive values gained through the many experiences they encounter at our College. At Mt Maria College, we expect the best of and for our students and support them through the many challenges they may face in adolescence. Our intention is that our students learn, grow, laugh, persist, support each other and work hard to achieve their personal best – all within our safe Mt Maria College family environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you'll make for your child. While every school offers learning opportunities, Catholic schools provide an education that nurtures the whole child academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

At our school, your child will be known, valued and supported as an individual. We strive to create a welcoming community where students feel a sense of belonging, develop strong relationships and are encouraged to become their very best version of themselves.

Catholic education is grounded in values such as compassion, respect, service, inclusion and justice. These values are woven through everyday school life, helping students grow into confident young people who care for others and make a positive contribution to their community.

Applications are accepted during the year and subject to availability of places. Space permitting, applications will be reviewed and assessed by our principal.

After the review process, applicants may be asked to attend an enrolment interview prior to a possible enrolment offer. If the year level is full at the time of application, procedures of our Waiting Pool will be followed.

Sibling, Baptised Catholic and North West Collective enrolment interviews and offers are done in Term 4 of Year 3. Remaining places for general enrolment interviews and offers for Year 7 are made in Term 2 of Year 4. At times, the number of applications we receive may be greater than the places available. If this happens, your application may be placed on our waitlist and we will keep you informed should a place become available.

While Mt Maria College Mitchelton is a Catholic school, we are open to all families seeking a faith-based education in a welcoming and inclusive community. We celebrate the diversity of the families we serve and invite everyone to participate in and support the Catholic traditions, beliefs and values that guide our schools and enrich the educational experience of every student. Children who are baptised Catholic are given priority of enrolment at Brisbane Catholic Education schools.

Absolutely! In fact, the best way to know whether our school is the right fit for your family is to experience it for yourself.

We encourage families to attend a school tour or Open Day to meet our staff, explore our learning environments, and get a feel for our community. It's a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and see firsthand what makes our school special.

You can visit us during our Open Day or sign up for a College Tour. Visit our College Tours page to register for an tour.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping you discover whether our school is the right fit for your family.

We welcome students and families who share in the values and ethos of a Catholic education. Each application we receive is assessed on its merit however priority is given to:

  • A sibling of a current or past student of the school
  • A current student from a school who is part of the North West Catholic Collective.
  • Defence Families

Families are encouraged to review the the Mt Maria College Enrolment Policy (PDF 201KB) before submitting an application.

We are committed to supporting every student to thrive. Our specialist support staff work closely with families to understand each child's individual needs and, where required, develop personalised learning plans and programs that support their learning, wellbeing and success throughout their educational journey.
